Quick installation guide:
- Remove the old pump from the handlebar.
- Unscrew the hose without spilling the fluid.
- Screw the hose onto the new pump.
- Place and adjust the pump on the handlebars.
- Once on the bike, place the pump completely perpendicular to the ground. Remove the top cover and check the mineral oil level. Next, gently squeeze the lever to check if it is possible to evacuate any air that may have accumulated in the circuit through the clutch pump. It is common to see small bubbles coming out of the top.
- If by step 5 we don't notice a clear response from the lever, we proceed to bleed the circuit from the opposite end of the hose, right at the connection to the crankcase. To do this, press the clutch lever and, keeping it squeezed, open the bleed screw with a long transparent tube to observe the escape of air bubbles. Close the screw again and pump several times. We repeat the process until we get a firm and precise feel.
- Once we have the hydraulic circuit bled and with feel, we will simply adjust the clutch lever pusher screw to find the feel we like.
The AJP Mineral Small clutch master cylinder is the best option if you are looking for a reliable and precise replacement, maintaining the original performance of your trial bike.
